In the face of rapid global change, many Scholarships alumni return to their home countries with world-class education, only to find that their knowledge and skills do not always align with the immediate needs of their local communities. This disconnect arises from the gap in the education system, which often fails to prepare graduates for the entrepreneurial and leadership demands of the 21st century. The AFELI proposes the Entrepreneurial, Leadership & Innovation Model (ELIM) to bridge this gap and equip alumni with the tools needed to create meaningful social and economic change. The ELIM Model emphasizes that to empower alumni to address local challenges and drive sustainable development, we must strengthen their educational foundation by fostering the right mindsets, self-discovery, skills, networks, resources, and entrepreneurial ecosystems. This holistic approach ensures that alumni are prepared not just with academic knowledge, but with the practical, entrepreneurial, and leadership capabilities to transform their communities. To achieve this, the AFELI focuses on empowering alumni to develop entrepreneurial leadership through training, mentorship, and access to resources that will help them build scalable businesses and innovative solutions. Through this model, we foster a new generation of entrepreneurs who can create jobs, drive economic growth, and address the most pressing issues facing their communities. The AFELI is part of a global movement of organizations that recognize the power of entrepreneurial leadership as the key to sustainable development and economic growth, and is committed to empowering alumni to be at the forefront of this change.
